The adult social care uplifts offered by many local authorities in the UK for the new financial year are woefully inadequate. The introduction of the new living wage has had a dramatic impact on the running costs of care homes and the uplifts do not reflect the increase.

We appreciate that local councils are under extreme financial pressure from the Government but when they fail to keep up with the rising costs of care thereby significantly reducing the funding level they pay to homes, the knock-on effect is financially and morally devastating to many home owners.

With this in mind, Hampshire Care Association have decided to set up the ‘Fair Price 4 Care’ campaign in order to rally support to lobby the Local Authorities and indeed Parliament to insist that the elderly and vulnerable within our society are entitled to a fair price for care and to be treated with dignity and Compassion.

Please help us with the campaign by signing our petition on the Parliament website and using the downloadable resources on this site to help spread our message on social media and in your newsletters and at events.
